I think people are generally greatful, but they're also concious that adding comments to their threads, effectively 'bounces' their thread to the top again, which on most forums is frowned upon. |

If that means they neglect to provide feedback, then that's OK.
That's the optimistic side of me ... the other side of course is more than aware that they stand a fair chance of failure too, especially those folks who have shown only rudimentary knowledge of wild things.
However, surely that's the key benefit of this web forum ... somewhere all of us can freely ask those more knowledgable to share their experience ... it's certainly why I joined. | Hi Valleyforge,
Like you, I don't have any problem with helping people out with info, I was just having a bit of a grumble about those who come on and ask for advice but don't seem to come back to pick up said advice. As you said, maybe perhaps they are fully engrossed Maybe I was just having a bad day |

I felt sooo very bad. Had I let that bird suffer overnight? I was mortified and so angry with myself for not having transport anymore, having given it up to help the environment - just can win! The person was on call, but on the other side of his "patch" hence his inability to collect. Got that off my chest after all these years lol | I've heard that a good few times around here with the RSPCA, seven times folks have been to the RSPCA here and then have brought the supposedly 'crop-damaged' pigeon, dove, woodie to my Old Chap. He has called them later so they can come collect it or go with him to release the bird. I do not trust the RSPCA with any birds, they may have people who know what they are doing but to date I have no evidence, for a lot of people birds are too alien and therefore too difficult to heal. Bit of advice; take any injured bird to a local pigeon fancer, he/she will know more!
