Buzzards & Hares

Morning everyone,
As I was driving to work this morning I passed a couple of the many Buzzards I see out my way most mornings.
The scene was a little unfamiliar though, one Buzzard was sat on a fence post looking over the field below but directly beneath it two hares were munching away on the grass. I was surprised they were there as I would have thought the presence of a preditor would have had them running for cover.
They looked fully grown, I wondered if perhaps they felt there was safety in numbers, or that realistically a Buzzard wouldnt attempt to take a fully grown Hare so they felt 'safe' in this situation?
anyone else had similar experiences?

Thanks Cazzie, well I'm home now so I'll have a look on my way home but my guess is the Hares were safe as it seems talking to others that the Buzzards prob wouldnt go for something so big. Lucky hare but possibly hungry buzzard ah well thats nature for you!:P

Perhaps the buzzard was full???

Perhaps the hare wasn't aware of the buzzard?
