| | | Bird needs identifying!! Hi don't know if anyone can help, but my parents have spotted a bird that they thought at first was a magpie. But on closer inspection isn't!!
Apparently it has much more white on it, its maybe slightly smaller, and it flies level not the swooping (or wave like) of a magpie. they are on a boat but the bird is not a water bird.I haven't seen the bird which doesn't help. I have had a few thoughts but I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions.
Thank you Punky |

Are your parents birdwatchers?
maybe an oystercatcher, lapwing?
maybe a pied wagtail?

| | | Re: Bird needs identifying!! Hello.
no offence taken i asked them if it could be an albino magpie or black bird but its not. The boat is near goole, no the bird isn't on the boat, it has only been seen in flight and on the land it has not been near the water. and no they aren't bird watchers, but they do know and reconise most of the water birds and waders, it just happens that they noticed this bird because it was so stricking.
Thank you all for replying i shall go and visit and see what the bird is, hopefully i'll be able to identify it.
