| | | Robin Hi, I was taking photographs of this Robin sat on a post. Quite by accident I got the image below. It's not good enough for the Gallery but I thought you may be interested in seeing it. Never did get one quite good enough for the Gallery. |

| | | Re: Robin nicely caught Roger, it is an unusual shot. What's the robin doing exactly? Is it taking off, landing or just jumping?

| | | Re: Robin Was it landing or taking off? I know that to take off birds jump into the air so am wondering what this one was doing.

I had the camera on continous shooting and was rattling shots off with it perched on the post and I assume it just took off.

Roger | Roger have you got the next one or two in the sequence? It could make for a very interesting series to show how birds take off.

| | | Re: Robin In that case can I suggest you get on out there as soon as possible, with the camera at the ready and keep trying to get the series of a bird taking off into flight. One of the things I notice from this image is that the bird does not open it's wings at the jump, presumably to get as much height as possible first. There is the hint that it is about to open the wings in this photo. Would be wonderful to see the whole sequence as still images. Think what a coup that would be for yourself and WAB.
