| | | Destroyed blackbird nest A blackbird nested against my wooden fence behind a dense dogwood 6 foot from the ground. Eggs hatched and for a week or so chicks regularly fed. Friday evening saw a commotion as two resident squirrels entered the dogwood. Checked later and male was sitting above nest and all seemed well. However following morning saw that the nest was completely destroyed with no sign of chicks although the male continues his sentry duty, seeing off other males. Does anybody know if the squirrels could possibly be the culprits? |

| | | Re: Destroyed blackbird nest Hello crates, I would say that it is more than likely that the squirrels were responsible. They are well known for taking eggs and young from bird nests...Bob
