Hello:

My Daughter found a small baby bird on a path on Friday Lunchtime at school, it was trapped under a metal section of fencing, there were no trees or bushes around and no signs of parent birds only cats

She put in her backpack and bought it home. On close inspection it's 7cm long fully feathered with only a little down on top of it's head and back.(I'm not sure what it is maybe a house sparrow but it looks mottled) It has a broken top left leg-With help from my son we managed to splint the leg with a cut down cocktail stick and micropore tape to hold it in place. It may help and seems to hobble around. I gave it some Sileca and Arnica homeopatic drops, put it on a hotwater bottle and within 15 minutes it was eating chopped cat food. I didn't hold much hope for this little thing. Well 2 days on it's doing fine eating when anybody goes near the box its in. What else can I feed and do for it? I've only had experience with Hedgehogs as I used to run Derby Hedgehog Care about 8 years ago.
