| | | Great tit chick/fledgling Hi discovered this site whilst trying to get some advice/help. The cat caught, what I think is a baby great tit. It seems OK and well developed but not flying. I do not know where the nest is, so have it in a box. I have tried to feed it dog biscuit gruel but doesn't seem to be interested.
Any advice to keep it alive tonight until I can get some local expert advice tomorrow? ( i live in Leeds - does anyone know where I should take it?) Thanks for anticipated support/ideas.

But this thread may help as I have no idea what to tell you only find a rescue centre as fast as possible.. Wildlife Rescue Centres

Sorry I can't advise what to do with the chick tonight but many wildlife rescue centres, etc. are open out of normal office hours. These two in WABs directory might be able to help. In the meantime, I'm sure someone will come along here soon with some advice. Leeds Wildlife Sanctuary | Wild About Britain Leeds Wildlife Rescue | Wild About Britain

| | | Re: Great tit chick/fledgling If its not raining, so it wont become sodden and cold, put it as near where it was found as possible - its likely the parents will be around and will hopefully respond to its calling.
Difficult to feed by hand, they dont easily open wide! And insects/caterpillars are best, but youve got to get them.
Let the parents try again.
Keep the cat indoors.
Realistically, its probably too late..........

Welcome to WAB | Hi Kayleigh, the bird was in the house, caught by the cat so I was not sure where to leave it outside and there is number of cats in the area so did not give it a chance outside.
Thanks for the link looks helpful |
