Fledged Today

Hi Guys,
We were lucky enough today to watch our Blue Tit young fledge, 0900hrs
I caught the 2nd one comming out on video with the camera, I didnt get the 1st one though, only 2 fledged out of 8
There were 8 eggs in the nest to start with, and 8 hatched, then we noticed something strange just one adult blue tit was going in and out of the nest,
we thought that the other parent bird was sitting brooding the young untill it became evident that something had happened to one of the adults,
next time I looked there were 5 young , then after another week I looked again andonly 2 were alive, 3 were dead and a bit smelly so I removed them from the nest, Now these observations were done quickly and when the adult was absent from the nest
I am happy that the two remaining chicks survived and fledged safely

Glad to hear about your fledged Blue tits and sorry about the mishaps with the others though,
