Smile Unidentified young bird
My father-in-law took a picture of a young bird when he was at a National Trust manor house and estate in Norfolk at the start of September. He didn't know what it was so asked me but unfortunately I am just starting to build my knowledge so couldn't help! SO if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated!

It did not move and made no noise whilst he stood there.

Thanks very much for the identification - I hate not knowing these things!

I have a couple of bird books but every time I come across a new bird I can't find them in it! Particularly true of young birds....
