| | | Site for Starling Nest Box I've had 20+ regular starling visitors this year in the garden. I'd love to put up a starling nest box. My garden faces west, so I'm not sure of the best place to put it. The surrounding fence and wall are barely 6ft high. I have a hawthorn tree in a large pot but that is still quite young and only about 9ft tall.

| | | Re: Site for Starling Nest Box I have lots of starling boxes up and to be honest they aren't fussy. I have never had one that hasn't been used yet. I would putit in the hawthorn tree as long as there is easy access in and out the hole. One at my work is on it's second brood already in same box. |

| | | Re: Site for Starling Nest Box I was thinking of putting it on the back of the house, facing west. But I keep reading that they should face between north and east. Mind you, I had a successful blue tit nest in a box attached to the fence, facing south. So go figure lol. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
