| | | Albino Starling? Is this unusual?? Hi folks
We were watching the usual early morning carnage as the fledgling starlings came for breakfast when we noticed one unusual little fellow amongst them. I'm not sure if he's a true albino or not, but he was a lot lighter than his contemporaries. I've never seen one before...is this unusual? |

| | | Re: Albino Starling? Is this unusual?? It is fairly unusual, but does occur occasionally as you've observed. Sadly these birds tend not to last as long as they are easier to pick out of flocks by predators such as Sparrowhawks. |

| | | Re: Albino Starling? Is this unusual?? Nope, we're in Bedfordshire. Hopefully ours will last as long as yours...although the sparrowhawks are pretty on the ball at the moment it seems! |

| | | Re: Albino Starling? Is this unusual?? I've been doing a bit of checking and to say I've been following it for a couple of years is bit of an exaggeration, sorry. First spotted ours in October 2008 and never saw it again until April this year, then it was a nice surprise when it flew over my head on Monday, I shall be keeping a special lookout for him because I visit the area quite often.
