Farne Islands Visit

Hello everyone,

Visited the Farne Islands last Monday, and had an absolutely magical day. It was my first visit and it was just incredible. I couldn't believe it, of course I'd seen photos and clips on the TV but it simply doesn't do it justice. To see it for real is just immense, I was totally lost for words when we landed on the first Island.

I've just about finished going through the photos, here are just a few I thought I'd share with you.

Brilliant photo's, Matt! Glad you had such a magical day on the Farne Islands! A place I have not visited but would love to, especially after reading your post, your excitement and pleasure shine through! Seeing your bird species takes me back to my two visits to Skomer Island last year!

Stunning images Matt,especially the Puffins and Terns!
The Farne Isles are just amazing aren't they?
Looks like you had a better day that we did for your trip tho it's a magical place in any weather!

Anyone with an interest in birds should visit the Farnes - its the law (or at least it should be!!)

Great photos!
another couple of weeks and it really gets lift off as the terns are so protective and fly down and sit on your head pecking! very amusing!!!
Mid June is the best i have found- as has been said a visit is a must!

I shall be visiting them on June 11th.

I shall be doing a "calm seas" dance the night before as I'm no great shakes as a sailor, but I'm looking forward to the trip.

Im soooooooooo lucky, I live half an hour from Seahouses where the boats sail from, from week begining 15th June, I will be there at least 3 times..

And DOXHOPE, you are one very lucky person. Not only do you have the Farne Islands nearby, Northumberland is such a fantastic place. I'd struggle to find anywhere that is more beautiful.
