I read this today in a cornish newspaper, I have not heard one for the last 2 years. How sad, at least there are people out there monitoring the numbers of our birds.

Just sat in living room not really watching the TV but my ears pricked up when I heard the work 'Cuckoo' mentioned. It was an advert for Newsnight on at 22.30 (BBC2) tonight -guess there is going to be an item on about it - maybe - not sure - because I wasn't really listening to the TV!?  May be worth watching?
(Not sure if I'm allowed to advertise TV programmes like this on WAB - sorry if in breach - there are some weird rules on this site ). |

Springwatch are asking people to help with a survey they are doing for the BTO regarding Cuckoo sightings and also if just heard. A worthwhile survey! |

A bit of a worry , would be a shame if we lost this unique bird. I really like cuckoos and will be forwarding the info on the two I have seen this year. |

Herring gull has gone red too for both wintering and breeding declines. Funny how they haven't been brough to people's attention on Springwatch  |
