| | | can anyone identify this half eggshell? Hi
I found this piece of eggshell in the middle of my patio this morning - not near any trees or bushes it was right in the middle of the patio
Does anyone know what sort of bird its from? Ive tried searching on the net but there doesnt seem to be any sites that show pictures of eggs anymore |

I did think that was the most likely culprit as we have at least 3 pair nesting around the garden i just thought it was a little odd that where i found it was nowhere near any nests and i know the dog hadn't had it as it would have been tiny fragments if she had spotted it (eggshells are a particular favourite of hers) |

| | | Re: can anyone identify this half eggshell? Yeah, it's a Blackbird. The parents will discard the eggshells some distance from the nest (many species will do this) - you can tell it's a hatched egg by the way it's neatly broken around the top, so likely this is what has happened. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
