cat caught crow

Hi im new here and need some advice, my cat caught a crow about an hour ago, i grabbed her round the scruff and she let go and got thrown in the house.
She wears two bells as its the one thing i hate about cats is they love to play with birds till they die.

anyway, the crow walked off a little dazed but seemingly uninjured but has been walking round outside for about an hour, seems to be walking fine with all its feathers tucked in neatly but it wont fly off. All the other crows around were going mad but seem to have calmed down now.

ive been watching it from the window and noticed a guy walk up to it and it still never flew away. its not small but it looks like a young adult. i dont know any wildlife places around me and i cannot drive and with it being bank holiday i cant pop to the vets round the corner.

i dont want to take it in as my cats will go mad and it'll probably scare the crow even more. its now sat on the wall at the end of our road and i dont want another cat to come along and kill it.

Hi and welcome to WAB,
I imagine now as it is a bit darker that the crow will have to take it's chances.
I would have left it alone especially if other crows were flying nearby, they could be his parents.
Let us know what happened.

Well our cat would break the wing of the birds it was going to cruelly play with.... the birds could not fly away making it so much more fun for the cat.

I suspect poor crow has had a similar fate dealt to it from your cat... perhaps the wing is not too bad and the crow might survive but i wouldn't put money on it.

Thanks for your replies, i think it must've hidden or flown off or worst case another cat got it I havent seen it since about 8pm last night. I kept my cats in so they couldnt do it more damage.

Short of putting a great big cow bell on my cats i dunno how else to give birds more warning - i probably never will stop it!
