Took a trip 10min down the M40 to the the Nature Reserve at Aston Rowant. I drove the right way down the motorway, unlike this fella 
Never got the shot i was after, but here are few more, will definately be going back again, and again and again    
Really weird being above and shooting down on the birds, reckon i will get used to it though!!! |

Nice pics, old soldier. We used to live near to there when they were first introduced and, like you, marvelled at being above them in that area. Rather miss them down here.....  |

It was my first visit, so was amazed how many there are to see, think i believe the statement that its the best place (barring feeding stations) to see them. May go again tomorrow, weather permitting!!! |

What terrific shots, nice to see some from above. Never having been there is there a climb to get above them? or some sort of platform?  |

It is very steep in places obviously, but taking it slowly you dont really notice because of the views available. I found it hard getting back to the car park, but then my legs are nearly 69 years old |

I'm not far from Aston Rowant too but it's a few years since I had a walk there. My parents live nearby so I tend to do my Red Kite watching from their garden.

I've driven past the nature reserve at Aston Rowant many times, and walked past it a few times. I've always seen lots of Red Kites in that area. Now I've seen your photos, I definitely want to visit it properly! | | |
