| | | Careful what you wish for!! Some time ago i posted that i had never seen a starling in my garden. Just recently something has been savaging my fat balls!. This morning i sat in the Ford Escort hide, and found out what it was!
And thats not all it was!
I reckon the next step is those "guardian" type feeders to give the small birds a chance-more expense!! |

| | | Re: Careful what you wish for!! Trouble with Starlings and fat balls is that they are such messy eaters! It goes everywhere and, despite the Woodies helping to clear up under the feeder, I still find a fatty mess on the ground. I've stopped this problem by only putting them in a cage where the Starlings and larger birds cannot get at them. The Blue Tits etc are much more delicate eaters and are quite happy to go in and out of the cage to feed in peace! |

Yes, that is what i am going to have to do i think, it seems the long tailed tits that used to love the fat balls, have stopped coming now! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
