| | | What time of year..? At which time in the year do, or would birds tend to feed more regularly? I am guessing winter beacuse of the shortage of various foods. |

| | | Re: What time of year..? And the later on in winter it is, the greater demand for supplementary seed sources As natural food sources (fruits/seeds etc.) dry up birds tend to move more to garden feeders. |

T2 | Thought so. I have three feeders in my apple tree, the first one is filled with black sunflower, the other with a wild bird mix containing things such as cut maize, crushed nuts and seeds and the final feeder is a caged nut feeder. I have already had:
Blue tit
Great tit
Dunnock
Robin
Wood-pigeons (not on the feeder)
White doves (which feeds from my hands )
Tree sparrow
Sparrowhawk (not on the feeder)
Albino dove (not on the feeder)
I am supposing that in the cold winter months i will probably have different species and more frequent visits? |

With the right food, and depending on what's in your area, you could attract Blackbirds and other thrushes, warblers, Goldcrests, various finches and buntings, and/or woodpeckers.
Have you got water out?

T2 | The bird bath is within 10 ft away from the feeders. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
