| | | Birds Dont you just love them!"!" This year i decide to extend my vegetable plot as my daughter has now got a house with her future husband and i thought it would be nice for her to have some benefit from the garden and save some money in the process.
Firstly the damn Jackdaws thought it would be nice to pull up the young broad bean plants, once the ones left were established they proceeded to the onions and left them neatly deposited still in their lines on top of ther ground.
Then it was the turn of the pigeons to destroy the brussels sprout plants and rip the peas to bits.
Not to be outdone, a pair of goldfinches descended on the vegetable plot and enjoyed the taste of young lettuce plants, now there are big gaps in the row.
Its a never ending battle

Try old CD's tied to sticks or line, bits of bunting flapping, and something which makes a noise in the wind.
Maybe chicken wire bent over into a hoop will protect plants as they establish.
Well done for trying to help though.
