For years I have had Robins in my garden, regardless of the time of year. At the beginning of this year they followed me around while I prepared the garden for spring sowing and planting. Then, suddenly they have gone!
In the last week or so young Blackbirds and their parents are about, along with Sparrows and their young. Last week I was pretty sure there was a young Woodpigeon on the bird table. Today, Starlings arrived with their young. It may have been a coincidence but the Starlings appeared about 10 minutes after I put rehydrated meal-worms on the table. Despite all the usual birds and their young appearing at this time of year there are no Robins. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions why?
I live on the east side of Gloucester were the gardens are mature with plenty of shelter and nesting sites.
