| | | Bird egg what is it?? Hey, yesterday my step dad found a bird egg on the floor at the edge of some woods and i was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on what it could be as i have been finding it rather difficult trying to find out for myself online.
The egg is aprox 4.5 CM long and is beige in colour with a tiny bit of darker brown markings near the top.
I didn't know what to do with it but just incase it was still alive it is sitting in a jar filled with kitchen towel in the airing cupboard, i tried the candling thing which i found online and couldn't see into the egg at all!!
If anyone can help me to identify the egg or give me tips on what to do with it i would be most grateful.
thanx
P.s I'm from Essex if that helps..

I would have left it, I'm afraid, sorry I don't think incubation, hatching and rearing are that easy.

Lots of bird's eggs are beige with brown markings 4.5 cm is quite big - blackbird / thrush size.
I doubt it will be viable and you could fall foul of the law if you are found with it although I applaud you for trying to hatch it.
