| | | Re: Cuckoos West of Sheffield, within the last fortnight heard almost every time I've been out there, sometimes two calling. If they are not calling I've usually spotted the meadow pipits etc mobbing them first, then seen the target of their displeasure. 10 May, same area, I was watching a male and female, the male was calling from time to time, and was mobbed by an oystercatcher, and at the same time I could hear another calling in the distance. |

Longevity has not been well documented in cuckoos from what I recall but I know individual warblers have definitely been recorded in the same bush, on the same date in successive years. |
