| | | Long tailed tit goes bump.. We keep getting a long tailed tit having a go at himself at all the windows around here. He spends all day doing it and goes from cottage to cottage bumping against the windows. I imagine he is a male trying to see off the competition (his reflection) but he is doing this all day..
Some on here may remember me posting a similar thread about a Pied Wagtail and the car wing mirrors.
Anyone know of a way of stopping him from doing this.. |

| | | Re: Long tailed tit goes bump.. interesting problem but have to admit I don't know, unless you try something like a net at the window to distort his reflection, sorry I'm not much help, but I'll also be watching for any other idea's |

| | | Re: Long tailed tit goes bump.. In Germany I saw a lot of windows with a raptor silhouette stuck to the glass for this reason but I don't know how effective they are.
You have a gorgeous view out of your window .

| | | Re: Long tailed tit goes bump.. Thanks for the replys.. I am sure a raptor image in the window would work, but he is doing this bumping (for want of a better word) in every cottage around here. Everyone is talking about him.
I woke up early this morning and heard a bump bump on our kitchen window.. I bet it was him.
I did manage to get a good photo of him, but I see I am not allowed to put photos on here any more.. (using photobucket)..? | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
