Jackdaws
Why do we hardly see any Jackdaws during the winter in our garden but from April onwards they seem to take over the garden ? Only the wood pigeons aren't scared off by them.

Hi ksg.The Jackdaws call here everyday but the other birds are fine with that.However, in the breeding season when the Crows and Magpies call that's different.We also have a Hawk that scares the daylights out of them all year round.

I don't know why they wouldn't visit in winter though.Must be something in your garden attracts them more from spring onwards.Have to say, i had to stop putting fatballs out because i was inundated with them and the mess was too much.
