| | | first arrivals Recorded first swift arrivals today concerned about how they will cope as I reported sometime ago.
The swifts nest in local council houses close to my school. The council over last few months has replaced the roofs.
Very concerned as there are records, of swifts nesting in same place in Oxford for 40 Yes! thats 40 years!!

| | | Re: first arrivals In previous years the earliest I had seen a swift was 4th of may. This year I seen one on the 25th of April. Not seen one since. This might sound daft but I have mistaken them for peregrines in the past. The shape of them is very similiar and easily confused if you can't guage what height the birds at. Only briefly caught out though. I wonder if I'm the only one thathas made that mistake? :-) |
