Great Tits

In the side of a house at the bottom of my road, there is a great tit nest. I have seen great tits use peanut feeders but never sunflower hearts.

Once the chicks have fled, could I expect them to maybe use my sunflower heart feeders? Has anyone had any experience of great tits using sunflower hearts?

Great Tits should take sunflower hearts. I've personally never fed the hearts, just husked sunflowers and they always go for them. With them being quite large billed birds they are capable of processing larger seeds, so things such as sunflower hearts are no problem for them.

We regularly see great tits on the sunflower hearts - but they also feed on the black sunflower seeds.

Our resident Great Tits also use our sunflower hearts feeder, more so than the normal seed.
