| | | Jays. I have a pair of Jays moving about near my feeding station and would like to get them in close.
What feed will bring them in ?
Cheers

Cheers | I agree they go wild for acorns and they look natural in the shot. They also eat peanuts like there is no tomorrow but the trick is to get them without a peanut in the picture, the ones in my collection were all baited with peanuts but I will be collecting acorns this week, Jon

I like the way Jays plant their own oak woodland |

Me too gill....natures own little conservationists doing there bit for ancient woodland. Thankfully they forget where half the buried ones are and dont eat them all !
Funny though as a young boy birdwatcher/y.o.c. etc seeing a jay or a green woodpecker was like a yearly highlight....now i almost get blaze with the amount i see in one day !..Which is a good sign numbers wise. Unless im just a better birdwatcher ha ha |

| | | Re: Jays. Interesting. We have Jays but they are very shy and don't come close enough for a decent photo. Admittedly we have lots of oaks/acorns around so they probably don't feel the need to visit the feeder.
I will try sultanas and monkey nuts. Where is the best place to put them - on the ground or on the bird table?
