you say you live in cambridge? i live in wicken which is in cambridgeshire and there are plenty flying around here. but more importantly i go to college in milton and there are also plently there flying around the stables. and milton is, if it werent for the A14 attached to cambridge.

We've got quite a few at work in Formby, Merseyside. Been around for about a month. They keep on flying into the building and telling us off! Think they're ready for nesting!

First housemartin arrived this morning at 10.00am very late indeed but I thought swallows were earlier arrivals. Don't give up hope the hard winter has probably delayed them as plants are also late here. |

Here in west Wales it is Martins first, then Swallows and finally Swifts.

Just to let you all know that these little guys finally appeared last week. They're absolutely everywhere now, swooping around. Great to have them.
Two couples have staked their claim to one particular nest, so there are arguments and disagreements about who owns it. Fascinating to watch. Hope they manage to sort it out diplomatically! |
