| | | Bird of prey I.D. needed again please :) Was out walking along the Medway today with Connor when we saw another b.o.p. high up in the sky, I managed to get a couple of shots off but alas only with a 135mm lens.
It has quite a distinct silhouette and I did try lightening it up a bit which revealed darker feathers on the underside of the wings going from the body along the front/back of wings and stopping before getting halfway, also seemed to have a darker tip to it's tail.
Does this ring any bells?
Thanks for looking

| | | Re: Bird of prey I.D. needed again please :) We did hear quite a few Cuckoo's [what's more than one Cuckoo?] calling from different sides of a wooded area but didn't see anything and I've never seen one before anyway so wouldn't have recognised if I did
Made my day and another up on Connor |

| | | Re: Bird of prey I.D. needed again please :) Can confirm that this is a Cuckoo - they have a fairly distinctive way of flying, shallow wing beats with the wing usually kept below the level of the birds back.

| | | Re: Bird of prey I.D. needed again please :) Thanks Roy I'd never seen a Cuckoo before, the shape really had me believing I was looking at a b.o.p.
We did hear plenty of Cuckoos but they were in a wooded area where we saw nothing, this was at the end of the walk about 7 miles away | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
