It asda be a bargain

Hi Guys

I just got back from a well known supermarket where they are selling Collins Birds - A Complete Guide to all British and European Species.

It is reduced, from £30 to a fiver

Thats 83 percent off, I think.

It is a big store, with Walmart attached.

Just a heads up for those that are interested.

Cheers

Andrew

Re: It asda be a bargain

I do not know much about bird books but it looks very good indeed. I just bought the RSPB Birdwatching book a few weeks back so will keep that in the car and keep the new one nice fror reference.

Did you want me to grab one for you? (Eeyore)

Cheers boddie i shall check my asde superstore tomorrow.

Do you know? is it the large format coffee table type one? called BIRDS ( im pretty sure this is what you said)or is it the collins "bird guide" available in small hardback and paper....and also large format hardback?...

Either way i dont have any of these yet so i will purchase whatever version it is?....at that price i may grab two ! ( provided its on sale throughout the chain and not just at your local one?)

I saw this book, it's a big old heavy hardback, classic coffee table size.

Hi Boddie

If you can get one at that price I would go for it as there is no better field guide around IMHO.

BTW to further grip you folks off. My Mrs works for Asda and gets a further 10% off this price if I had wanted one, but I don't as I already have one.

John

Re: It asda be a bargain

Just driven to my local asda superstore but no bird Book

p.s. John....good advice to boddie but you cant really class a book the size of a paving slab and as heavy? a field guide unless your built like a gladiator....but i do agree its an excellent book none the same shame i cant get one for a fiver.

Yep I was back at the Minworth store yesterday and they had none left. Shall keep my eyes open though as they seem to often have really keen prices on books in general
