| | | Exotic Mallard! There's two of these on the Wendover Arm of the Grand Union Canal - at the Wendover end. I think they're both males (from the 'towing hooks' on their rear), and they're always together.
They're not easy to photograph as being irridescent, the colours constanty change according to the lighting.

| | | Re: Exotic Mallard! it's odd for a manky mallard, it has curled tail feathers - I thought they signifed an ability to breed, a feature lacking in mankies? Maybe I'm wrong somewhere... |

I've just had a google and it looks like they're Black East Indies: http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/D...astIndies.html
They really are spectacular birds.

Maybe I'm wrong somewhere... | All male Mallard- including domestic breeds such as this- have the curled feathers at the rear + these birds can breed. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
