| | | Sparrowhawk attack Sadly, i have witnessed a sparrowhawk in my garden plucking away at a sparrow. I was wondering, would this disencourage birds such as Tits to feed or nest in my garden? |

| | | Re: Sparrowhawk attack Not really. Sprawks have quite large territories anyway and your garden would make up only a small fraction of it. If the birds feel safe they will nest regardless of their presence. Some birds choose to nest right near a predatory species' nest as most will not hunt near to their own nest for fear of exposing it to other predators.

| | | Re: Sparrowhawk attack We have a sparrowhawk that hunts over the gardens quite regularly and I have not noticed a decrease in birds feeding at my table.
In fact when the sprawk is around the first indication is of the birds taking flight into the hedges and undergrowth.Then you may see the sprawk fly past,only for the birds to resume feeding...
