| | | i.d. help - possible linnet, but on a cliff I saw this cute little bird today, picking its way along the cliff face at Rottingdean in Sussex. If it weren't for the location I'd say linnet for sure, but I've only ever seen them on more open land. Half way up a chalk cliff facing the sea seemed odd. Confirmation appreciated. Thanks! |

| | | Re: i.d. help - possible linnet, but on a cliff I took a look at your 'linnet'. Checked it out with my shots and as far as I can see it IS a Linnet. What it's doing halfway up a cliff is anybodies business but maybe that's why they are 'bird-brained' ??

| | | Re: i.d. help - possible linnet, but on a cliff It looks a little dishevelled as if it has just had a bath. If so, could it be enjoying the warm updraught helping it to dry out? |

| | | Re: i.d. help - possible linnet, but on a cliff Thanks everyone for the confirmation. I was thrown by the location. I guess it must have popped down from the nearby fields for a Bank Holiday break | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
