They can be extremely persistent but once we put our trellis up they could not get to the front of the bird house from above as they couldn't get onto our fence.I am afraid we had 7 cats that loved our garden for several years so we got lots of practise in chasing them.We both work full time so i know it is hard.We have always had big dogs and all of them hated cats but that didn't deter them either.We ended up putting 140 feet of trellis on the outside top of our fence out back as a last straw and it worked for us.The cats then used our front garden path and jumped the back gate so we put trellis on it too.

theres a spray called femaway.but its not cheap.it does work i think its makes them think theres a lion in the neighbourhood and so avoid that area.

I have an amazing picture of one of the chicks pocking his head out and mum feeding him. Its so cute. Now they are coming to the opening in the box, do you think they will leave soon...also the cat i was having trouble with, sadly got run over....

Two of our bluetits left soon after we'd seen one looking out - the rest decided to wait another day.

woke this morning, the bluetits have gone . I missed them leaving, however Daddy has been back a few times peering in the box and leaving again

My five little babies left the nest yesterday and I must say I have been worse than a mother hen! Our dog cant go out into the garden as they have been on the floor all day!The kids have been told to creep around the back of the property and my husband is getting no attention at all! I managed to get some pics of them on the VCR and one of the smallest baby on the camera! The parents are still feeding them this morning. How long will they stay in the garden, none of them are very strong fliers yet?

I know the feeling, our baby great tits have gone, now I am waiting for the blue-tits to fledge.
I think the parents keep a look out for them as I have seen ours out and about.
