IMO the second photo could also show a Linnet (especially as Sam believes that both photographs show the same species). There is not enough detail in the photo for a positive identification to be made but I can't see anything that will rule out Linnet - which are relatively long winged and have a fairly deep fork in the tail.
One thing that I am certain of is that it is not a Swallow - after I zoomed in to 800% and increased the brightness of the photograph I could see that the head and underparts are a fairly uniform colour and do not show the obvious contrast between the head/ upper breast and underparts that would be seen on a Swallow.
Sorry to disagree with everyone else!
