I have heard from a reliable birder that the first cuckoo has been heard near the Medway. This year, I WILL get a good shot of one.

Me too JUles, I'm determined to get a shot of one and have my cuckoo call ready!
If anyone hears one at Crossness it could be a cuckoo or it could be me!

That's great news!
We were so lucky last spring to get good views of a pair of Cuckoos sat on a fence calling......brilliant!!!! |

Hear them every year......over and over again.....but have never yet spotted one!  I reckon they hide on purpose

This is my one and only shot of a cuckoo taken last year-terrible as you can see
Determined to get a better shot this year,a reliable bird watcher thought he heard one last week,so I too will be listening out......
