I think that these might juvenile Yellow Legged Gulls (taken in Portugal)








On the abortive hunt for fan tailed weavers, I took these two snaps against the sun - hence the quality. Might this be a Reed Warbler?

Are you sure it was an abortive attempt Colin?!! Perhaps you meant Fan Tailed Warblers (Zitting Cisticola) because you certainly have a pic of one here!

I'll come back to the gulls when I have more time unless someone beats me to it (hopefully!)

don't know my gulls, but i love the photo's of the fan tailed warbler (going along with Picidae's identification as I don't have a clue!) what a lovely bird, well done

Looks to me like a second winter yellow legged, but I'm not an expert on juvenile gulls. I'm sure someone will confirm soon.

But looks like you've had a result on the warbler though. Well done!

Thanks - I did mean the zitting cisticola/fan tailed warbler. I shall now keep the pics, poor that they are!
