| | | Have you noticed how well the birds seem to be tolerating each other of late ? One thing i have noticed especially over the last week or so is how well different breeds of birds seem to be getting along together, we have pigeons and blackbirds that quite happily share the same ground feeding table together, our resident Robin mingles in with the Starlings first thing in a morning and feeds quite happily with them throughout the day, to be fair he won`t be bullied by anyone as he is a tough little hombre
The only bit of chasing that goes on every now and then is the same breed chasing the same breed but its not over aggressive, the blackbirds still seem to chase each other quite a bit but when you watch them closer they seem to be enjoying it, its like a little game to see who can out witt the other by pinching each others sulatnas and mealworms from under their seperate bushes.
The doves and pigeons make me laugh, the only bit of aggression they ever show to each other is that little weeble run they do where they do with a gentle flap of the wings that wouldn`t even frighten an ant, funny birds....
Finches just get on with feeding and don`t sem to mind anything. |

Most of the birds here are still quite aggressive. Those that enjoy the same diets are as ever, at war.Greenfinches attacking Goldfinches and Gold finches not budging and attacking each other.Sparrows and Chaffs joining in.Blackbirds chasing Blackbirds and Thrushes, when each one should be tucking into a good feed.
The Robin attacking anything that moves, diving down to the Dunnocks and back up to the feeders, and the Finch Family.
The Doves,Woodies ,Jackdaws etc seem ok at the moment and the Starlings, well, they are just being Starlings |
