| | | Bird ID please, is it a Wagtail ? Is this visitor we have in our garden a Pied Wagtail ? I had a quick look on google and its the closest ID i could find to the photos. Whatever he/she is they seem to be a very placid bird, i went out into the garden to refresh the water and spotted the new visitor on the lawn and it never flew off, it was doing a funny little walk about 3 feet to me and seemed to be following where i was going. |

| | | Re: Bird ID please, is it a Wagtail ? Thanks to you both... Thats excellent, its another new bird i can add to the list of visitors to our garden.
How common are Pied Wagtails in gardens as its the first one ive ever seen, are they normally so placid and layed back as this one didn`t seem bothered by me being in the garden, what do they normally eat ? |

| | | Re: Bird ID please, is it a Wagtail ? Hi Steve, yes they are very placid, we run a butchers shop on our farm and they hang about most of the day waiting for scraps of meat! |

| | | Re: Bird ID please, is it a Wagtail ? Pied Wagtails eat mainly insects but often found round picnic tables waiting on crumbs. |

In fact, not 10 minutes ago I saw 2 on the next door neighbour's TV aerial. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
