| | | Waxwing lyrical After my Trainspotting journey, i cycled up to Fulwood and found the Sherwood pub and as i walked across the car park a woman walked towards me with binoculars in hand. "I know why your here" i said  she said they were here when she arrived but flew off before she even got the Bins on them, " never mind i'm sure they will be back" i said with more confidence than my predictions usually deserve  after about 10 minutes of scanning the skies a largish flock appeared overhead, and even though i had never seen this bird before i just knew that they were here.
And after another ten minutes they were gone leaving only memories.................. and a few pics, of course
Now that was worth getting out of bed for, unlike the football

We saw the flock fly off as soon as we got there but it wasn't definitve.  | I was there about 9am and the bloke working on the gutters of the church hall said they had been there for a couple of weeks but i didn't see them reported anywhere till this thursday and on friday there were apparently upwards of a hundred or so, still plenty of berries but there were only 22 birds this morning so maybe there fed up  so to speak or there are more berries elsewhere and they are moving around.
There was an article in the local paper about them being around Preston since before Christmas
