| | | A fishy walk! My first visit to a local Fisheries on Thursday afternoon was a couple of hours well spent! A 20 acre site with a good perimeter walk and visitors welcomed! The perimeter has fields, a small waterfall and stream and a small wood that is over 1000 years old! I counted 45+ Redwings in a field with many more in the furrows that popped up every now and then! Gathering and getting ready for the off no doubt! Buzzards were seen several times soaring in the clear blue sky! A couple of Siskin, Greenfinch, Chaffinch and Robin amongst the birds seen! The highlight was the kestrel that hovered by one of the pools and then perched on a small tree! I had great views of the Kestrel through the scope and managed a couple of record shots! The best views I have ever had of a Kestrel, all over in a couple of minutes but heartwarming to see it so close! |

The Fisheries welcome organisations too ie: Schools and the Scout movement etc! A good piece of PR by the management of the Fisheries!
Should I add a website link of the Fisheries on Wild Places, Ron? |

| | | Re: A fishy walk! If you go to the reference section Pam you can add the fisherey as a new wild place but you need to enter a fair bit of detail. It's fairly simple once you get the hang of it.
