| | | confirmation + id hi all, was down the river again yestaday and came across this little fellow on a hedgerow can anyone please confirm this is a yellowhammer.
the little egret turned out to 3 little egrets.
and finally this was taken on the edge of a wood, the pics not that great as i wouldnt still, can any one possibley id this bird it was smaller than a black bird. {Sorry about the external link, i have been trying to upload this pic since yestaday but it isnt going on} |

| | | Re: confirmation + id thanks all, i was thinking long tail tit but wasnt sure due to the tail markings look like they are horizontal instead of vertical {going from photo}, plus im not that good with birds, but learning slowly with wab.
Whats the best way to id birds as so many look alike? |

| | | Re: confirmation + id Hi Derbi, I tend to take a photo (from several angles if possible) of one's I'm not sure of, then when I get home go through all the bird identification books and the rspb website. I'm getting better as the time goes on, but wetland birds still get me!
of course, failing that I post the unknown bird photo on WAB and someone has always managed to help |
