| | | Cat proof fence - woohoo I have a very succesful apple tree feeding station in my garden.. However, I also have 2 cats and my large garden is visited regularly by about 10 other neighbourhood moggies. I've been scratching my head as to how to protect the birds at my feeding station. Whatever I do with my own cats, I can do very little about other people's. So today, I went to the garden centre and bought a ten metre length , 0.6 metre high, of green wire fencing to ring the apple tree with. It hasn't stopped the cats getting to the tree area but it does slow them down considerably. What's more, OH, kids and I will be rigging up little bells on it to make sure that our bird visitors get plenty of warning about our cat visitors.
Only thing now is to hope the badger doesn't blunder into it in the night and flatten all my hard work. |

You will be kept busy if the Badger flattens the fencing at night, Madeline! |

| | | Re: Cat proof fence - woohoo I've ordered some bells that would normally go on the end of fishing rods to attach to my fence. I hope they're not going to rattle about in the wind and scare away my birds! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
