I am thinking of taking a trip out here and any info of any nature whatsoever would be very much appreciated, i will be cycling from chorley train station so a scenic route would be nice, depending of course on the accursed weather cheers

there is a brillant reserve at the golf corse, don't know the name, but its on the road from the A6 turn off to wigan, its a linear reserve with water course running through it. Well worth a visit

Birkacre Nurseries are very good, they have feeding stations, visitor centre and a relatively tame kingfisher.

Its best talking to BuzFuz as she walks this reserve almost daily and she'll know where everything is.
