Query on Siskins

Am I correct in that the Male of this specis ,the colours are a lot stronger and more vibrant and that the female are dull with the dark patch on the head being less obvious.
If so the one that started feeding last week has now brought hjis mate to the feeder and attend quite regular about 4 times a day you can almost tell the time by them.

Yes, that sounds about right, mature males are the vibrant yellow with little black caps, the females and immature males are much paler and streakier, and have a much less noticeable cap.

There is a juvenile on the left in the picture below, and some adult males, it's not a great shot, but you can see the differences.

Aye that's right!.. if you're lucky then they might be staying to breed, especially if you have conifer trees locally

Thanks for that guys much appreciated its a pair,Lucky I have 3 large Conifers in myb garden and neighbour has one in hers also there is a large wooded area about 75meters away as well so could be lucky.
