| | | Birdprint Look like something had a close encounter with our patio doors
There's no body so must have just been stunned. The wing length is 23-28 cm so I'm thinking either Wood Pigeon or Sparrowhawk, both are regulars. Look closely and I think you can make out two eyes and a beak. |

| | | Re: Birdprint Possibly a Wood Pigeon, we have had a couple hitting the kitchen window and leaving a dusty residue. I think they fly at their own reflection.

| | | Re: Birdprint We had one on our kitchen window, which was by a Collared Dove. I was looking out of the window at the time and actually ducked as the Dove impacted. It flew off quite well, if a bit stunned, dozy bird. |

| | | Re: Birdprint we also have regular "hits" to our patio doors from the collared doves, all seem to survive ok, if a little dazed. Does anyone know if the sillouettes you can buy of hawks etc actually put off the birds from the feeders? I keep contemplating buying some to stop the hits, but don't want to panic any birds that actually come into the garden! |

| | | Re: Birdprint we had this happen a day or so ago,and could also make out what appeared to be the eyes and beak of the bird, the white powdery deposit clearly showed the birds outline, but due to reflection the photo did not turn out to be recognisable,
no body or injured bird evident, so the bird hopefully recovered from the incident,
unlike a female blackbird that hit the front bay window and died from the impact |
