| | My Oddest Sight of 2009... Hi all,
A funny sight today...
I was on the bus this morning, caught up in slow-moving traffic in a residential built-up street. I happened to see a man on the pavement on the other side holding something under his arm. Curious to see what it was I saw that he was holding a dark object that I then assumed to be a cat and didn't really think anything more of it.
The bus started moving off slowly and as we levelled with him I saw that it was not a cat he was stroking at all... but holding a dark-coloured mallard !!
A man, holding and stroking a mallard, in a busy street with no bodies of water in the area at all!! To say I wasn't expecting that is an understatement!
Any reasons that you could think of?
Take care,
Jason

| | | Re: My Oddest Sight of 2009... A duck rustler perhaps Without wishing to make or imply any racist comments, it's apparently (and allegedly ) quite a common practice amongst some of our eastern European immigrants with all manner of wildfowl having disappeared from some inner city waterways

| | | Re: My Oddest Sight of 2009... Me neither... but just as a general description of the male, I believe he was African. He was just stroking it from the head and down the neck, whilst the bird was obviously quite interested in looking around at his surroundings.
