| | | Re: Birds entering home, help please Hello again I now will have a bet with you I bet those birds are coming in for the bakers meaty chunks because thats what the blackbirds did at my other house , Ive already told you that the birds were coming to the food bowls and taking dog food, and that the only food my dogs have ever eaten , so yes can we have a bet I know for definate its the meaty chunks, oh and arnt they expensive to feed the birds on ?I WILL WIN IF YOU HAVE A BET WITH ME put the meaty chunks in a completley sealed bin the birds can smell them a mile away. I think it will be a long time before the birds realize that the food is no longer there for them , I think you will have them for a long time as yet, Let us know how you get on , and I will give you my address as to where to send my bet dosh . sheila

| | | Re: Birds entering home, help please Hi,
Well, you guys have all certainly been very helpful. I've definately considered things I never would have before and hopefully, i've found the answer thanks to you all
I suspect that Shiela is on the amrk with the dog food. It certainly makes alot of sense and don't we all crave sense? So, if the front door is used, glass doors always closed. back door we are just going to have to be more vigilant. Just incase, because you never know, i'm blocking the view on one of the livingroom windows so that there is not a tempting 'fly through' view for them. The bird food is now out of site in the garage (or will be in an hour when I go out to refill the feeders and move it there, bought more last night) Hopefully, i've got all the based covered for future invasions!
Thank you all so very much for helping me with this odd problem, I really do appreciate it very much. Infact during my short time her on this forum i've read a few of the other posts and actually found myself quite interested by them. It has had me thinking much more about the birds around the area that I live (Someone asked in an earlier post, i'm on the northern edge of Sherwood Forest, literally). We get a fair few birds of prey here, mainly after sparrows. I'd never really done more than enjoy the birds while ironing but now i'm curious about what they are, etc. I think the only one I looked up was a spotted woodpecker because it was so pretty. Well anyway. Thank you all loads
*big hugs for all* |
