Typical mallard behaviour. Nicely caught! 
We both were commenting on how different the Swans are to Ducks. Ducks are almost brutal in comparison. I well remember a couple of years ago witnessing what could only be described as a gang rape!

Lovely shots Pam. We have a pair who have visited our garden every spring and summer for over five years and the male has had to fight off the attention of several young suitors every year, and he always wins. I believe that Mallards mate for life.
