Swan mating Ritual

Today we went to Clumber Park. Rather than go where everyone else does we decided to go to a small bridge where we've been lucky in the past to get good shots of Little Grebes.
It was a wise choice for once. There was a pair of swans right beside us. The bridge we were standing on is a very low one, only a foot or so higher than the water level.
The swans started their full mating ritual.

Have to agree they are very elegant graceful birds Graham. Always a pleasure to watch them, and some great shots of them you got as well..

Think I know the little bridge you took these from I decided to catch up on a few outstanding jobs around the house as the forecast wasn't good. Guess what, by 10am the sun was shining

Yes it is the Little Grebe bridge.
Our local forecast was for grey skies all day. Completely wrong. The sun was out a large part of the day. Our only problem was the crowds, hence why we went to that bridge, we couldn't get in anywhere else!
I was so close to those swans I had to ask them to back off a bit! I couldn't get them all in the frame but I don't think that mattered too much.

No under the circumstances the whole bird wasn't necessary. The photos depict the behaviour perfectly. Good forecast for tomorrow, what's the betting they have got it wrong again. I'm going out sun or no sun
